"Mental Wealth in The Age of AI: Ancient African Intelligence For Human Betterment"
With Dr Erica McInnis
Summary
In this thought provoking talk, Consultant Clinical Psychologist Dr Erica McInnis explores how ancient African wisdom can help us navigate modern life. Drawing on African Psychology and traditional African ethical systems, including the ancient Egyptian principle of Ma'at and the Southern African philosophy of Ubuntu, she introduces the concept of Mental Wealth: the values, virtues, wisdom, and wellbeing practices that can be accumulated and passed on to future generations.
As technology becomes increasingly powerful, what wisdom can help us become better human beings? Can ancient African knowledge offer practical guidance for character, connection, justice, purpose, and collective wellbeing? Join us for a journey through ideas that are thousands of years old yet perhaps more relevant today than ever.
