"Manchester’s Northern Quarter: Street Art, Independence and Creativity - How Did it Get Here?" with Amy Nic
Summary
The Northern Quarter is Manchester’s creative core. The streets are brimming with art, music venues, vintage stores, comedy clubs and independent businesses. But where did this all start, and why (and how) is it still going? This talk explores the beginnings of the area, and its journey into its modern form. We will undertake on a virtual walking tour to explore some of the best pieces of street art (along with some easter eggs that even the NQ’s inhabitants miss), architecture, filming locations and notable independent stores.
We’ll discuss what the NQ represents, why it’s role is so important, and what we love about it.
