Bio

Kirsty Fairclough is a Professor of Screen Studies specialising in the intersections of screen cultures, popular music, film and culture. Her research explores how popular culture shapes and reflects society, with particular interests in music documentary, celebrity culture, sound and visual media, and digital technologies. Kirsty has published widely and worked extensively with cultural institutions and media organisations, including the BBC, ITV and The New York Times, as well as HOME, Manchester International Festival and Factory International. Her work connects scholarship, industry and public engagement, and she has delivered talks at major cultural events including SXSW, the BFI and Glastonbury Festival.

What if I don't drink alcohol?

No problem at all! Pints of Knowledge is all about the ideas and the community, not the drinks. You’re welcome to enjoy a soft drink, coffee, or whatever you prefer. The focus is on creating a relaxed, social atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable

Can I attend without a ticket?

Tickets must be purchased online prior to the event. With our limited capacity at each venue we can't let people in without a ticket.

Is there food available?
