Join us on the beautiful Somerset levels for a full weekend of song, featuring workshops of polyphonic music from around the world, including:
Bulgarian workshops led by Dessislava Stefanova, leader of the London Bulgarian Choir
Georgian workshops led by Anthony Johnston, musical director of Borjghali, Bristol Georgian Choir
Southern African songs, led by the highly experienced and renowned Zimbabwean singer and music leader, Lucky Moyo
The main program will begin on Friday evening with a one hour workshop of Southern African songs in the village hall. During Saturday, four one and a half hour workshops will be held, with the men going with Anthony Johnston to the beautiful Holy Cross church for the last workshop of the day, while the women stay with Dessi Stefanova in the village hall.
The weekend pass includes lunch and evening meals, with a feast on the Saturday evening, at which guests are invited to share songs, poems or stories from any tradition of their choosing. Camping is available on site for weekend pass holders, at no extra charge. Other accommodation options are available nearby.
Optional extra sessions will be held on Friday afternoon and Saturday lunchtime, including:
Eastern European songs and sound bath by Lena Leszczyc
A storytelling walk exploring the rich history of the area, led by Sharon Jacksties
(Optional sessions are to be booked directly with the session leaders on the day.)
£120 weekend, £85 Saturday including feast, £60 Saturday workshops and lunch only, £15 individual workshop.
