Willow Weaving with Donald and Karen Spy

Join local basket weavers Donald and Karen in a hands-on willow weaving workshop. Create elegant and functional items like serving platters, stars, or bird feeders. This workshop is suitable for beginners who want to try willow weaving for the first time, and also for people who have some experience and want to do more. 

All materials and tools provided. Ages 16+ only.

Please be aware that working with willow can be hard work for the hands and brain. The sessions are run at a relaxed pace with time for breaks

About Donald & Karen

Silverhare Baskets is the partnership of Donald and Karen Spy, who create beautiful, handcrafted willow baskets using traditional techniques and sustainably sourced willow from Fife and Somerset. Since taking up basketry in 2020, the husband-and-wife team have developed a distinctive range of functional and decorative work, combining craftsmanship with a passion for natural materials. Alongside selling their baskets and taking commissions, they regularly teach workshops across Fife, sharing the skills of traditional willow weaving with beginners and experienced makers alike.
