Adult Community Training - Replacing Challenging Behaviours with Positive Alternatives
Tue 5 Nov 2024 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM PST
Online, Google Hangouts
Description
Join us for an insightful and practical training event that focuses on effective behaviour change.
When reducing a challenging behaviour, it is crucial to increase a more positive alternative, known as a replacement behaviour. Selecting the right replacement behaviour requires careful consideration, and this training will equip you with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions.
During this training, you will learn how to:
Conduct a functional behaviour assessment to understand the purpose behind the target behaviour.
Identify a functionally equivalent replacement behaviour based on the assessment results.
Teach teams how to support the learning of new replacement behaviours.
Effectively teach individuals new, positive behaviours to replace challenging ones.
Collect and analyze data on replacement behaviour programs to track progress.
Troubleshoot and overcome common challenges in implementing replacement behaviour strategies.
Real-life examples will be shared to demonstrate the application of these techniques in various settings.
This training is part of the Kootenay Behaviour Consultation Programs' Adult Community Training Series. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills in supporting positive behaviour change.
This event will take place on Tuesday, October 5, 2024, from 12 - 3 pm PT / 1 - 4 pm MT
