Catch of the Day is a game where conservation meets speed dating – a playful way to explore how species across land, river and sea are connected.

Grab a coffee and open your heart to the creatures of the flowscape. You’ll take on the role of a species and mingle to find your matches to learn about the inter-connectedness of oceans and forests.

For too long, science has treated these ecosystems as two separate worlds, divided by the shoreline. What we couldn’t see was that forests send life to the sea, and the sea gives life back to the forests.

Carl Rowlinson, arborist, surfer and co-founder of Plant One will share the fascinating new science revealing the threads binding them together. Their No Trees No Seas project is on  mission to restore these ancient ‘fish forests’.

This experience is a partnership between Plant One, LEAP and Volans and part of the No Trees No Seas movement.

Thursday 25th June 08.45-09.00 - Arrival.  09:00-09:45 - Species speed dating (intro + mingling) 10.00-10.45 -Talk + Q&A

Catch of the day is a game for learning about the forest-to-sea ecosystem and meeting interesting people along the way – anyone finding love at this event would be purely accidental.'
