The 2 day weekend course offers you a step by step approach to creating a single sided shamanic frame drum and drum wand from scratch. It promises to give you a connection to your drum so much more powerful than buying one ready made, no matter how beautiful it is or lovingly made. It is like it becomes a part of you, perhaps this is why we call it 'birthing' a drum. 

The practice of drumming is well known in many cultures as a method for creating powerful trance states which provide a pathway to experience the mystical, spiritual realms. And for thousands of years the drum has been used as a sacred healing tool, to transform and shift energy that may be causing disease in the mind, body and spirit. Our 2 day Shamanic Drum Birthing Workshop is a powerful way to become or enhance your practice as a sacred drummer.

The skins are made from ethically sourced animal skins. Usually we have stock of Deer, Stag, Reindeer and Horse and we will tune into the animal that wishes us to be your healing drum ally, as we brith our drum we bring it back to life in the form of a shamanic frame drum in our sacred drum healing ceremony. This sacred animal will become your spiritual ally when working with it in this ceremonial way. And the wood for our drum frame will also be an ally, sourced ethically, there will be a variety of drum frames available to suit your personal path including Ash, Birch, Oak and Willow. 

Birthing your own drum can be an emotional experience, sometimes it brings tears, and we weave them in to our creations. Sometimes there is so much laughter and light - whatever happens, it is a reflection of you, and a part of your healing journey and you will be fully supported throughout with our loving shamanic guidance.

YOUR DRUM MIDWIFE:

Sorrell Robbins is a shamanic practitioner who has over 27 years of experience as a drum healer, shamanic practitioner, teacher and ceremonial leader, and has many years experience birthing shamanic drums with several teachers from Lakota lineages. She wishes to share this ancient wisdom about how to birth and work in ceremony with your drum, for teh healing of all our relations.
