We are excited to announce Plas y Brenin SheClimbs will be returning yet again! SheClimbs 2026 will bring you brand new workshops, some old favourites, evening talks, and much more.

Whether you’re just starting out, looking to improve your skills, or an experienced climber just looking to make new friends, there’s a something for everyone at SheClimbs!

FAQs

Who is SheClimbs for?

SheClimbs is an event for women ranging from complete beginners through to those that are advanced. We welcome everyone who identifies as female or non-binary to take part.

Can we swap the workshops that we are booked onto?

We have a range of courses from beginners to advanced which you can choose from when booking. Please read the workshop descriptions below very carefully to ensure you are happy with the course choice. If you are unsure of which course is right for you, please give us a call or email before booking. Ammendments to your booking may be subject to an administration fee. 

What Is Included in My Ticket?

We have two ticket options available: SheClimbs Residential Pass and SheClimbs Non-Residential Pass.

Both residential and non-residential passes include the below:

  • Dinner (Friday), breakfast, packed lunch, tea/coffee + cake and dinner (Saturday) and breakfast, lunch and tea/coffee + cake (Sunday)
  • Access to our onsite showers and drying facilities
  • Travel to and from your climbing courses if they’re offsite
  • A goodie bag from our partners and sponsors!
  • Access to our brand meet and greet and evening talks on Saturday evening

As well as the above, your residential pass includes two nights’ accommodation onsite here at Plas y Brenin to make your stay convenient and comfortable. Choose from a relaxing stay in a single or twin en-suite, or make new friends in a ladies’ dormitory room.

Am I able to use kit from Plas y Brenin's stores?

If you have your own rack and other climbing equipment please do bring it along. For those without their own kit, we can provide it from our stores free of charge. Any kit you bring will need to be inspected by instructors. Our full kit list for climbing courses can be viewed here.

What happens if there are poor weather conditions during the event?

Our instructors will adapt the program depending on weather conditions to make sure all attendees stay safe.

Gemma Powell - Nala Yoga - Yoga for climbing - 20 Spaces 

Gemma is an experienced climber and Yoga teacher. She will help you start your day with a climbing specific yoga session.

Saturday 7am - 8am

Workshop Descriptions

Please note the courses run on Saturday and Sunday: They are all 2 Day Workshops

Introduction to Multi-Pitch Climbing (Intermediate)

 Multi pitch climbing on classic North Wales crags. Learning to climb on multi pitch crags. Belaying a lead climber, becoming a competent second, what to do at stance, route finding, crag descents.

Multi Pitch Improver (Intermediate)

 If you have already done some multi pitch climbing and want to build on your skill set to become a competent second and future lead climber, this is the course for you. You will further develop your climbing, belay building skills and rope management on the picturesque crags of Eryri National Park.

Learn to Lead Climb (Advanced)

 You’re a competent second and you want to take the next step. Learning the intricacies of gear placements and building belays, managing ropes. Rope finding and crag descents.

Advanced Scrambling (Intermediate)

Take your scrambling up a level. Learn the skills to tackle grade 3 scrambles. Learn how to move safely in steeper terrain, using a rope when needed giving you the confidence to explore the mountains.

Improvised Rescue (Intermediate/Advanced)

 Solving potential problems while climbing. Covering useful skills such as tying off a belay plate, simple hoists to help stuck climbers, prussiking and escaping the system.

Ready to Rock  (Intermediate)

You are a competent climber who has spent time outside and is looking to take the next step towards independence at the crag. Expect two days of learning to set up bottom ropes, abseiling, building belays and learning about different types of ropes and equipment. You will need to have spent time climbing outdoors before, be a competent belayer and eager to gain experience towards becoming a lead climber.

Introduction to Climbing (Beginner)

Come and try rock climbing in a safe supportive and fun environment. We will cover, all the foundation skills and knowledge for becoming a climber. You will learn to belay safely, tie knots, read the rock and have fun. 

Indoor to Outside Climber (Beginner/Intermediate)

Regular indoor climber who wants to progress outdoors. Apply your indoor skills to the outdoors crag. Learn about gear and rope set ups to become independent at single pitch crags.

Introduction to Scrambling (Beginner)

 Are you a keen hillwalker that’s once to take the next step into more challenging terrain? Learn how to move through the mountains on graded ground. Gain confidence in route finding and good foot work. 

Crack Climbing Masterclass (Intermediate) 

Want to improve your jamming technique or learn how to overcome an off width, then this session is for you. Learn various techniques to improve performance and comfort on different type of cracks. If you are climbing 6B at the wall you will get more out of this workshop as its very physical. Coached by Harriet Ridley Mountain equipment athlete and Pete Herd.  

Fear Of Falling (Beginner/Intermediate)

This two day course will enable to you meet and manage your stress, anxiety and fear of falling. You’ll learn to understand the way your nervous system is wired, tools to regulate your system, how to build up and structure your day and falling safely. We’ll look at optimal body positioning in the air, landing, dynamic belaying and how and when to use fall practice. Katherine Schirrmacher former GB coach & world cup finalist. 

Technique/Movement Coaching  + Mental Performance (combined) (Beginner/Intermediate)

Technique/Movement Coaching Please note this is a one-day workshop: A fantastic opportunity to be coached by world-class climber Emma Twyford. Looking at movement skills using bouldering indoors/outdoors. 
Mental Performance  Please note this is a one-day workshop: Want to improve your head game and know more about phycological techniques to help your climbing. A great opportunity to learn the tips and tricks that help you progress as a climber. Coached by Danielle Griffith who has coached athletes to compete at elite level
