Invite your child to explore a range of fun sensory invitations designed to facilitate authentic, spontaneous play!
Day & Time: Tuesdays from 2 - 3 PM
Ages: Crawlers - 4 years
About: Sensory Play is developmentally valuable for young children in a multitude of ways and Playforest educators have a blast designing fun and inspiring invitations for you and your little one to engage with.
In this “fan favorite” group, children have the chance to interact with a rotating choice of work tables specially prepared for each class and arranged with beautifully curated tools and loose parts. We'll sprinkle rainbow colored rice into play cakes, pinch and sort woolly pom poms, count acorn fairy hats, give animals a warm bubble bath and more! Creative play = guaranteed!
This group is the perfect opportunity for young children to test out their developing social awareness with other littles and for parents to enjoy community as well!
This group is structured as 30 minutes with a variety of teacher-tested play invitations before opening up the rest of the Playforest structures and materials for free play for the rest of the group time.
What is sensory play?: Sensory play is any activity that stimulates at least once of a child’s senses. Sensory play is the laboratory in which children can simultaneously test cause & effect, practice regulating their physical and emotional state, and strengthen their fine motor skills – amongst a long list of other amazing benefits. We here at Playforest simply can’t say enough about the magic and science of sensory play and we are thrilled to bring it to our community!
