Sandra used to be a croupier at one of Liverpool’s glitziest casinos. That’s where she met Steven, and fell in love.

But now, a lifetime later, facing financial peril in the wake of Steven’s unexpected death, she’s run out of cards. With nowhere else to go, she must leave her hometown and move in with her son, William, and his wife in - of all places - Clapham.

Sandra and William have barely spoken to each other for the past 20 years. And as she adapts - or doesn’t - to her strange new surroundings, we begin to understand why.
