Dear Lihua (WIP)

Dear Lihua is a bilingual English/Mandarin theatre piece presented by Treetrick. After arriving in a strange “English-speaking heaven”, Qiuqiu discovers that she must earn enough points to return to China. She is assigned to the Department of Unanswered Letters, where she sorts through mail that never received a reply and finds countless letters addressed to someone named Lihua. Part immigration office, part fever dream, the show moves between dark comedy, absurd bureaucracy and tenderness, exploring migration, loneliness, language, and the exhausting feeling of constantly translating yourself to be understood.
