The play, albeit short, has huge impact. It challenges the immigration rumours that encourage the racism that plagues the country and ends in a love story... sort of.
The past, present and future walk into a bar... ouch. What does it all simmer down to? chaos. Class Half Full is, in my opinion, a reflection of the UK right now. Chaos. Nothing a good ol' TikTok dance can't mend.
A tennis match between puppet versions of Margret Thatcher and Keir Starmer- the ball is Tony Blairs head, a nod toward Spitting image, should resemble the games constantly played by the people who run the country. Revealed that it is a child playing whilst waiting for their dinner.
The future walks into an old woman and a bear sharing porridge, an unlikely friendship after all humans but one have transferred their souls and become digitalised via Ai, who else could keep you company in this post war world?
When all the characters, people, things meet on stage in the form of a well oiled machine like dance it is suddenly stopped by an offstage voice - think Simon Cowell on 'Britains got talent' hitting the red button - who comes into the space with a comically large iPhone to show everybody that they got the shots needed for social media. Offstage voice is inhuman, cold and direct. When it asks everybody to leave their costumes where they are. Everybody complies and drops the character, people, things they may have been and all end up in the nude chatting and eventually all leave the stage.
All that is left on stage as the lights fall towards blackout is the head of Tony Blair with raging red eyes, laser like.
