A deeper dive into the POWER part of power play for all interested parties (Dom/mes, subs, switches, etc.). What are the benefits of this type of play, what do we need to consider, and how can we help everyone to be more empowered?

​​Plenty of people are interested in learning how to be a good Dom/me, but it's often assumed that being a good submissive just happens, that there's nothing to learn for that role. I completely disagree!

​​​If we want to explore power play ethically, then all of us, no matter our role, must first take the time to do the "inner work". That includes, amongst other things, looking at where you have blocks, shame, resistance, unmet desires, and the strategies you use to get what you want.

Whether you're interested purely in the submissive roles, or you already feel confident in your technical ability as a Dom/me, this course is an invitation for you to explore your relationship with power, and how we can show up in our play with more awareness around this. 

This is an invitation for you to upskill and make your kinky play empowering for all.

THE COURSE: 

This is a live online course taking place via Zoom over three 2 hour sessions. There is also an option to attend an in-person gathering in Salford, Greater Manchester on Sunday 29th September.

​​This course aims to consciously explore the many ways in which POWER shows up in kink, beyond the obvious power dynamics and regardless of the role we are looking to step into.

This course is suitable for those who are new to kink in general, or those who may have some experience but who wish to learn how to engage in kink responsibly. ​

Some of the topics covered include:

• What is power?
• Different types of power - visible and invisible to us
• What happens when we reject power?
• What we do instead
• The purpose and benefits of a power differential ​
• The myths of dominance
• Empowered submissiveness (for subs, switches, AND Dom/mes)

There will be some OPTIONAL homework between classes for those of you who wish to dive deeper into the practices and reflective work.

This course is the outcome of two decades on my own journey around this, from people pleaser to Professional Dominant, AND from working with hundreds of people as they consciously explore kink.

I share openly about my own personal (good, bad, and ugly) experiences with power, how my non-kinky parts of life have influenced me greatly, and the challenges of this work that nobody told me about.

The focus of my teaching is on creating a space for us to experiment and have embodied experiences of power.

​My work is influenced by the Wheel of Consent, the Right Use of Power, conscious kink, Jungian psychology, some aspects of Sexological Bodywork, the DeVinery Method, and many skills that I've been taught and have gone on to develop such as verbal domination.

THE SCHEDULE

We will meet via Zoom. The link to join and other details will be sent out to course participants in a welcome email before the first session. Sessions will be recorded and made available to view for 2 weeks after the class date, should you have to miss any of the live classes.

OPTIONAL IN-PERSON GATHERING

There will be an optional in-person gathering to attend on Sunday 29th September in Salford, Greater Manchester. 

This will offer extra opportunities to practice, to connect with your peers, and to play.  The extra fee for thee gathering is £60. If you'd like to attend, be sure to select the right option at checkout. 

PREREQUISITES

I love that people are drawn to this training from all different kinds of backgrounds - from kink newbies to Pro Dommes with decades of experience.

​To ensure that everyone shares the same foundational knowledge as we dive deep into our relationship with and expressions of power, I am only accepting participants onto this course if they have already completed my Getting into (Ethical) Kink course OR equivalent training e.g. some courses from The Kinky Classroom, Wheel of Consent, workshops on communication and negotiation skills.

THE COST

The cost for the course is £120 for the online-only sessions or £180 including the in-person gathering. 
This includes three online group sessions and weekly home practices. (Plus a full day of extra learning for those who sign up for the in-person gathering). ​

Please remember to allow extra in your budget for travel and accommodation costs if attending the in-person part.

I am setting a minimum number of six participants to ‘activate’ the course. If we don't reach this number, I will let you know and refund your fee one week before the start date at the latest.

Lex is the embodiment-focused sex and kink educator behind Pleasure Rebels. They guide individuals and groups in explorations around topics such as consent, sexuality, pleasure, intimacy, identity, relating, and power.
