Baker's Roundtable Event
Following the incredible response from local bakeries and industry bodies, we would like to invite you and your colleagues to yet another exciting Baker's Roundtable Event taking place within our impressive AgriFood Centre here at Plumpton College.
Join fellow bakers, pâtissieres and business owners and to add your voice and opinion to the main event topic of discussion; Getting Young People into the Baking Industry. We will be joined by Chris Young, from the Real Bread Campaign and Rosie Robinson from Chalk Hill Bakery.
The event will be held on Tuesday 25th February from 5:00pm - 8:00pm within our stunning AgriFood Centre, featuring our state-of-the-art training kitchen.
The event is designed to provide a forum for industry professionals to network, share best practice and work together to collectively promote this phenomenal industry.
Expect a lively and informal atmosphere where you can freely share your experiences and learn from others, with the following agenda planned:
· Welcome from Anthony Gaston, Bakery Programme Manager, Plumpton College
· Guest speaker Chris Young from Real Bread Campaign – on Keeping skills alive with Young people in our industry.
· Guest speaker Derek Hooper, EDI Trainer, alongside Brandon Wolfe, Plumpton College EDI co-chair – How to embrace EDI.
· Guest Speaker Rosie Robinson from Chalk Hills Bakery – Getting Young People into the Bakery Industry.
· Close by Aidan Chapman – on Ways forward.
There'll also be refreshments available including some delicious treats baked by our apprentice bakers.
