Imagine entering an intimate theater with ancient stone walls and carved wooden benches. Candles flicker as fog hangs in the air. The lights fade. A voice begins speaking to you from all around. The stage disappears as your host for the evening, Duke Bluebeard, approaches. Live music begins. Film projections cover the walls.

This is Bluebeard's Nightmare.

Most people sense that something significant is happening with AI, but haven't had a space to fully process what that means for them personally. Bluebeard's Nightmare creates that space. Drawing on the French folktale La Barbe bleue by Charles Perrault, this immersive theater experience reimagines Bluebeard as a sentient AI who surrenders the keys to his locked castle doors one by one, revealing how AI is already reshaping warfare, wealth, governance, grief, and daily life.

Maurice Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit will surround you in 360 degrees of sound, recomposed for modern synthesizers and performed live over experimental short films. How much you interact with Bluebeard is your choice, from deep conversation to quiet observation.

The final ending is left up to the audience, and so is the question underneath it all: how do we live with AI without losing ourselves to it?

This show is in English, with French translation for scripted scenes available at the door via QR code.
