FameLab offers a unique platform for early career researchers to showcase their brilliant ideas and engage with the scientific community. We believe that this competition presents an excellent opportunity for emerging talents to effectively communicate their research and promote innovation.
A panel of judges will be watching researchers present. The winner, who best demonstrates FameLab's 3C's - Content, Clarity and Charisma, will be going through to the national final at the Cheltenham Science Festival in June.

Title: ‘No Rest for the Wicked’,
Some problems are just hard. And the hardest are not just hard to make progress in, they are hard even to describe. Famelab provides a framework, motivation, and opportunities to explore many valuable paths, many of which are straightforward and joyful. But it can also, potentially, open a crack to let in some light on how we might recast our old fashioned thinking about hard problems. In 20 minutes I hope to make the link between talking for 3 minutes in public about your work, and taking your first step towards becoming part of something much bigger than what is usually called 'Science Communication'.
Speaker: Dr Martin Coath
Associate lecturer for the Doctoral College in Plymouth, Senior Researcher at the University of Lapland (Arctic Centre), and Academic Adviser for education projects at Canterbury Christ Church University.
