Creative, confidence, building drama classes for young people, taught live online with drama teacher and author Sam Marsden .

These weekly online drama classes are designed to explore drama in a creative, supportive and fun environment, with an experienced drama teacher.

These sessions use drama games, acting techniques, and improvisation to help young people develop confidence, communication skills, and creativity.

For students aged 7–11 years old on Thursdays, 5.00–6.00pm UK time

The classes are suitable for young people who already love drama, as well as those who are new to it. You don’t have to be from the UK to join, anyone can join from anywhere around the world.

The course will run for 12 sessions, with a one-week break for UK half term.

The price is £8 per session, and are booked as a 12-session block. If your child tries the first session and decides it is not for them, a full refund is available, no questions asked.

Total cost for the 12-session block: £96

Session will include a mixture of drama games and acting techniques designed to support: Confidence, communication skills, acting techniques, social skills, creativity, imagination, listening and focus, performance skills, teamwork, storytelling, and creative writing.

These classes are rooted in the belief that drama can help young people grow from the inside out. The workshops will use drama as a way to help students feel more confident in themselves, communicate more clearly, listen to others, think creatively and work as part of a group. They will also teach acting techniques for those keen to learn more about acting.

About Sam Marsden

Sam Marsden has been teaching drama for over 20 years. She has taught children and teenagers in youth theatres, after-school clubs, private schools, state schools, Stagecoach classes, and in a wide range of educational settings.

Sam taught drama in London for 10 years, then moved out to the Bath area and taught at King Edwards School, and also set up and ran Chippenham Youth Theatre. Her teaching work has always centred on helping young people grow in confidence, connect with others and find their creative voice.

Sam now lives in South-West France, and teaches a little locally, and she is the author of many popular drama teaching books, including 100 Acting Exercises for 8–18 Year Olds, published by Bloomsbury. Her other books include Acting Exercises for Creative Writing, Drama Games for Early Years, Acting Games for Improv, Drama Games for Mindfulness and Emotional Health, and Focus Games for the Classroom.

Sam also writes about drama, education and performance for organisations and publications including The Stage, Spotlight, Headteacher Update, Edutopia, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

She believes in the power of drama to help young people develop confidence, communication skills, creativity and emotional awareness. These online classes are rooted in that belief.
