Description
The Polite Tourist presents a SATURDAY EVENING walk in YORK - Curious Deeds. A Curious Death?
For those of a curious and hardy temper – why not come along and listen to The Polite Tourist one SATURDAY evening in the ancient City of YORK as they share with you the tales of those ordinary folk including the story of a feckless chemist, the impoverished labourer and the spouse driven to an extreme act of provocation.
And ALL lost to history – until now!
However, for those of a sensitive nature who are averse to real stories of tears, heartache and tragedy – a walk with The Polite Tourist one SATURDAY evening in YORK may NOT be to your taste.
A True Crime Walk Like No Other...
The Polite Tourist offers true crime walks through Victorian history. Through York, Scarboro' and beyond.
As dusk beckons, and as The Polite Tourist peels back the long shadows which lurk just out of view – find yourself spirited back to the cruel streets and darkened passageways of a Victorian world and to a place where death was ever present.
And as you walk along the old, unquiet streets and through the dark and crooked labyrinths to a Victorian yesteryear of death and despair, crime, disorder, murder and mayhem – the long forgotten tales of those folk who once claimed these streets as their own will be revealed.
Innovative, meticulously researched and inspired by true crime stories from the Victorian era – our walks are designed to offer an informative and unique experience with a professional and spirited storyteller.
Our coterie of storytellers includes the Lady Brigante – a sleuth of infamy, wanderer of unquiet graveyards and the bête noire of the long forgotten dead.
