Polmontfest will be a day for the Community to come together at this free event. This is its opening year and one we hope to grow and become an annual event.
This will be a fun day with lots of things to do for all of the family, and Music to lift you up!
We have stalls from various organisations and Music to entertain all.
We will have an interactive music session from Music Broth. Come along and play an instrument, children will be encouraged to 'make some noise!' Help will be on hand to guide and inspire. Read more about this amazing organisation: musicbroth.org/
'Polar Opposites' are a young, local band. They played their first gig at Polmont Community Hub Soup Night and are currently featured on the front page of Falkirk Districts 'Tenant Talk' magazine. Recci-Mac (reclaim and make) is a new, not for profit venture to spring out of Polmont Community Hubs resident sewing group. They will be showcasing their amazing coat made from ties that were saved from being thrown away and clothing made from discarded material that you would never imagine could look so good! All proceeds will be used to subsidise art projects at the Hub that will be available for a low or no fee.
F.E.L will be on hand to get creative. Children will be invited to help out creating signs and drawings for the Hub. felscotland.org/

TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) Children and adults will be invited to get involved in a bioblitz and exploring the grounds. TCV will also be talking about the ancient techniques of scything: (Scything is the art and technique of using a scythe; a long, curved hand tool, to mow grass, clear weeds or harvest grain. It is experiencing a major revival in modern meadow management and conservation because it is quiet, good for wildlife, and offers low-impact physical exercise). They will also promote a future Scything event (adults only). tcv.org.uk/
Burnt Island Hedgehog Haven will be here to talk to you about all things hedgehog! They will also have some merchandise available to help support their work.
