PYC Islay Challenge - Sat 6 July

*This page is to be completed by all boat owners looking to partake in the PYC Islay Challenge 2024*

Portrush Yacht Club's three Wayfarers and safety boats are planning to cross the open sea to Islay on Saturday 6 July.

Although this follows on from successful trips to Rathlin Island in May 2023 and 2024, this event is remarkably more challenging with three small, open boats, which are just 4.8m long, undertaking a long sail across the Irish Sea to Scotland.

Weather permitting, they will be leaving Portrush Harbour at 8am on Saturday 6 July and will return on Sunday 7 July. PYC boat owners are invited to join them to form a larger parade of sail in the long journey across.

If you'd like to come along, please register your vessel online as soon as possible.

It is the responsibility of boat owners to settle mooring fees with Portrush Harbour/Islay and to phone ahead to ensure there is space available for your boat.
