WALK & TALK Vol.7: Women in history walk + friending
WALK & TALK Vol.7: Women in history walk + friending
Prague Feminist Tours and Something New bring you a seventh "WALK & TALK" event where you will learn while meeting like-minded people!
Join Averil Huck for a guided tour to remember nine women who are resting in power in Prague's largest graveyard: Olšany Cemeteries. We'll escape the summer heat thanks to the shade of the cemetery.
What to expect from the tour?
A 1.5h walk in Olšany Cemeteries, to honour the memories of 9 remarkable and lesser-known women laid to rest there. Among them are pioneers of Czech women’s emancipation, like Karolína Světlá & Eliška Krásnohorská, fascinating figures like the “Czech Coco Chanel” or Anna Náprstková, a successful entrepreneur. Averil will also tell you the poignant story of a mother, Libuše Palachová, who fought to preserve her son’s memory, Jan Palach, after his tragic self-immolation in protest of the 1968 Soviet invasion.
We’ll also make sure that participants get a chance to speak one-on-one as we’ll incorporate some speed friending into the tour. After the tour, you can still join in for coffee to end the event together.
Event is completely solo-friendly! Join alone and meet people on the spot or bring a friend and share the fun.
