Over the past 27 years, Pratham has changed the lives of millions of children and young people in India and beyond. Our innovative and scalable programs reconfigure traditional teaching methodologies and make learning mechanisms more effective.

Pratham works in collaboration with communities, parents, schools and governments to deliver innovative learning programs. Pratham USA, our 501(c)(3) non-profit, raises awareness and mobilizes financial resources for our work on the ground.

We actively work in 21 Indian states to optimize learning outcomes using five key mechanisms: literacy and learning, vocational training, girls’ education, research and advocacy, and ed-tech solutions.

Through learning, minds are opened to a world of new possibilities, transforming the trajectory of children and young people's lives – and the future of their families and communities, too.

Pratham has been widely recognized for its innovation and impact through various awards including The Kravis Prize in Leadership, the WISE Education Prize, and, most recently, the 2021 Yidan Prize for Education Development awarded to Dr. Rukmini Banerji, CEO of Pratham.
