Understanding disability in the workplace

Supporting disabled employees should not be just a legal box-tick exercise. Instead, it’s about creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

From neurodiversity to chronic illness, mental health to mobility, disabilities come in many forms, and so do the challenges employees face. This session is designed to demystify disability in the workplace and help you respond with confidence, empathy and legal know-how.

We’ll explore:

  • What “disability” really means under the Equality Act 2010 (spoiler: it’s broader than you think)
  • When the duty to make reasonable adjustments kicks in and what those adjustments could look like
  • How to handle tricky situations like when an employee hasn’t disclosed a condition, where it’s not clear cut if somebody is disabled or if managers feel unsure how to respond

Expect the usual real-world examples, myth-busting moments and practical advice you can use right away.
