Death & Dying Seasonal Tour

Join us for a special tour exploring the place of death in the early 1800s. You will walk through the steps of a wake with a trained docent who will explain to you the community's response to death, body preparation, the wake, burial and stone cutting techniques. The tour includes a stop in the kitchen house and ends in the cemetery where you will learn the unique history behind the Polk family cemetery.

This tour is designed to be family friendly and suitable for all ages. All tour fees are paid on site prior to the start of the tour.

Tour guests can expect up to a 1/4 mile of walking along some uneven ground. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. In the event of extreme heat, cold or rain, the tour will be cancelled.
