Pride in Hull 2022 Parade Entry
Sat 30 Jul 2022 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Starting Point - Hull college
Description
Pride in Hull has for many years started with a parade. Originally a march to protest against the inequality that lgbtqia+ people had to endure and for many still sadly a reality. It’s 50 years since those first Pride marches in the UK and with it being the 21st year of a Pride presence in Hull all the more poignant.
We invite you to join us to protest, parade or party with your family, friends or allies. Our community will be very visible once more on the streets of Hull. Assembling by Hull College then heading off at 11am. Registration to collect wristbands begins at 9am.
We will be going through the city in a colour, loud and proud way lopping back into Queens Gardens
Start off at WILBERFORCE DRIVE
On to LOWGATE
On to ALFRED GELDER STREET
On to QUEENS DOCK AVENUE
On to VERNON STREET
On to BOND STREET
On to GEORGE STREET
On to WILBERFORCE DRIVE
Ending in QUEENS GARDENS
This year it’s all about Trans rights, the many nations it’s still illegal to be LGBTQIA+ in and perhaps the tribes we are part of e.g. drag, sports etc. So you’re welcome to march with a group with similar interests, your work colleagues or family. Just let us know.
Also let us know if you’re in a group, the number of people and if you plan to play music as you make your way along the route. It’s still very much, for the main part, a walking parade.
There will be pride stewards on the day and an opportunity before the big day to walk the route and ask questions about the event which includes a new exciting Pride Party in the Park element.
Thank you for applying to join in!
