Sarah's African Drum Circles bring you the best of both - the beautiful rhythms of the West African Djembé and a deep dive into freestyle and meditative drumming. 

As a more advanced player, you'll know that drumming is a hugely uplifting activity with an array of health benefits for body, mind & soul. All drumming is wonderful for the brain, but improvising gives us extra layers of connectivity and creativity.

These sessions will improve your playing, give you a wide repertoire of traditional rhythms to call on, and also build your confidence with group improvisation. You'll gain skills to express yourself more and the joy of being part of an exhilarating sound!

*NB. Experience Needed! These sessions are for people who know all the basics and pick up rhythms quickly. Most who join this group have been playing for a few years. About Sarah:
Sarah is a highly experienced percussionist and teacher, who has studied extensively with West African, Brazillian & Cuban master drummers and taught across the UK for over 25 years.
