Join Pro Coro Canada for an evening of beauty and contemplation at the newly renovated All Saints' Anglican Cathedal, as we present Dvořák's reverent Stabat Mater. Pro Coro Canada is excited to be performing with following artists for the Dvořák:
- Sarah Schaub, soprano
- Lesley Dolman, mezzo-soprano
- Matthew Dalen, tenor
- Michael Kurschat, bass
- Megan Crane, piano
The concert features following repertoire:
- Antonín Dvořák - Stabat Mater, Op. 28, in the original version for piano
- Paweł Łukaszewski - Responsoria Tenebrae
- Jevgeņijs Ustinskovs - Stabat Mater Dolorosa
- Hannah Havrylets - Prayer to the Most Holy Mother of God
- Iryna Aleksiychuck - The Prayer (Holy Mother of God, have mercy on us)
Pro Coro Canada is excited to welcome 15 emerging singers from across Alberta to join in the Good Friday concert. These singers were part of the Alberta Youth Choir 2026, and individually accepted our invitation to sing with the professional ensemble. We're grateful to Choir Alberta for continuously offering great educational choral programs such as the Alberta Youth Choir.
There will be a pre-concert talk by historian Franz A.J. Szabo on the historical context of Dvořák's evocative work. The talk will begin at 7:05 PM and venue doors will open at 6:45 PM. We will continue to seat audience members throughout the talk.
