Lodge of Progress 8259

Festive Board Booking

Events list

The Lodge of Progress is a Freemasons’ Lodge based at Chester-le-Street Masonic Hall, Station Road, Chester-le-Street. We are a well-established Lodge with a strong focus on friendship, mutual support and the shared values of integrity, respect and service.

Our membership brings together individuals from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds, creating a diverse and welcoming environment. We are proud of our reputation for being open, sociable and supportive, with a clear emphasis on making both members and visitors feel comfortable and included from the moment they arrive.

We meet regularly throughout the year at Chester-le-Street Masonic Hall, a traditional and well-regarded venue that provides the setting for both our formal meetings and the dining that follows. The Lodge places equal importance on the quality of its meetings and the social experience afterwards, recognising that both are central to building lasting connections.

Alongside our meetings, we are committed to charitable giving and community support, contributing to both local and national causes. This forms a key part of our identity and reflects the wider purpose of Freemasonry.

Whether you are a member of the Lodge or visiting from elsewhere, you can expect a well-organised, respectful and welcoming experience.

Please note our Festive Board booking conditions:

Dining is an important part of each meeting and all catering is arranged in advance. To allow final dining numbers to be provided to the Hall Chef, all meal orders must be placed no later than 5 days before the scheduled event date. This is required in accordance with the agreement in place with the Masonic Hall Association.

All meals must be booked and paid for in advance through this system. If a meal is not booked by the required deadline, it will not be provided on the evening. This is a firm no booking, no meal policy.

Once a meal has been booked and paid for, it cannot be refunded. This is because catering numbers are confirmed and committed in advance, and the Lodge remains liable for those costs whether or not a person attends. A strict no refunds once booked policy therefore applies to all meal bookings.

We ask all members and visitors to respect these arrangements, as they help ensure fairness, reduce waste, support proper planning, and maintain the smooth running of our Lodge meetings.
