Join us for a lunch-hour webinar exploring the role of language in arts-based mental health research

With funding from UKRI (Medical Research Council), Project CREATE launched in 2023 to support and enhance arts-based mental health research focused on youth loneliness. At the heart of the project is a commitment to amplifying young people's voices in a project that brings together arts and humanities researchers, social sciences and clinicians, arts practitioners and young people.

A lack of shared understanding of key terms is a well-known challenge in interdisciplinary research, particularly in youth mental health research. How do researchers and young people interpret foundational concepts like research, data, loneliness and resilience? What happens when those interpretations do not align, and what can we do to create a shared understanding across disciplines?

This webinar is aimed at researchers and practitioners already working in or interested in this field, and it will offer valuable insights into how we can make youth mental health research more inclusive and reflective of young people's lived experiences.

During the webinar discussion, you will meet:

Host:
Professor Paul Cooke, Project CREATE Principal Investigator, University of Leeds

Speakers:
Dr Sylvan Baker, Project CREATE Co-investigator, University of London
Dr Cristina Harney, Project CREATE Postdoc Research Fellow, University of Leeds
Two members of our Young Persons' Advisory Group (YPAG) for Project CREATE

Date: 20 May 2025
Time: 12:00-1:00 pm
Location: Online via MS Teams

Please note: This webinar will be recorded and may be repurposed as part of a Project CREATE podcast. By registering and attending, you consent to the recording. If you prefer not to be recorded, feel free to keep your microphone off or submit questions in the chat.
