Growing the Local Food Economy: Dumfries and Galloway
Thu 20 Mar 2025 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Gather, Laggan, Gatehouse of Fleet, DG7 2ES
Description
This free event will connect local food producers with
food businesses, buyers, distributors and networks, to action plan how
we get more quality local food onto more plates in Dumfries and
Galloway.
Producing more of what we eat, eating more of what we produce!
This event brings together a number of food and drink projects happening across the region: the Regional Local Food Growth Plan, Small Producers Scoping Studies and the South of Scotland Food & Drink Landscape Assessment.
These projects are being led by collaborating partners, including the South of Scotland Destination
Alliance, South of Scotland Enterprise, JR Consulting, Abundant Borders and Propagate.
We invite you to join us for a busy morning of discussion and networking, followed by a lunch showcasing local producers.
We
will have a speed networking session to enable local producers,
processors and buyers to connect and collaborate. We'll hear
from food industry expert Julie Mills who will offer some top advice for developing a
sustainable, local food and drink business.
There will be top level insights from South of
Scotland Food and Drink Landscape Survey.
The survey is open now until 24th March - take the survey here to share your thoughts.
We will collectively discuss and plan around themes important to stakeholders from across the food and drink industry - focusing on key actions for the region.
Your
involvement will help shape future support and growth opportunities for
food and drink producers across Dumfries and Galloway, and the South of
Scotland.
