A Mission Bernal Tasting
A Mission Bernal Tasting
On one evening this month, four blocks of Mission Street become a single long table. A Mission Bernal Tasting brings more than twenty neighborhood restaurants and bars together on Wednesday, October 28, from 5 to 8 pm. One ticket buys a taste at every stop, from Nepali momos to Peruvian ceviche to Salvadoran pupusas, along Mission between Cortland and Precita, plus one block of 29th Street.
A silent auction runs all evening at PizzaHacker, 3299 Mission, with winners called at 7:45 pm and prosecco to close the night.

Where the funds go: The Good Prospect Community Art
Every ticket helps fund a mosaic tile art installation by artist Colette Crutcher (creator of the beloved 16th Avenue Tiled Steps) for the retaining walls at Cortland and Prospect, with tiles created by our own neighbors woven into the design. The Good Prospect Community Art is fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts & Media.
Colette's 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, pictured below, is the inspiration for this project. (More photos of the Good Prospect tiles and mural design coming soon!)

And here's an early rendering of the proposed Good Prospect Community Art Mural itself (day and night views):
