📢 A special, FREE outdoor community screening: The People’s Emergency Briefing

What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday & outdoor-focused lives in the UK?

For those of us who work in, play in and care deeply about the outdoors, the climate and nature crisis isn’t an abstract issue. It is already changing the places, landscapes and communities that our industry depends upon.

Be our guest for the People’s Emergency Briefing, a powerful new 50-minute film, presented by Chris Packham. Hosted at the esteemed Royal Geographic Society, the film brings together some of the UK’s leading experts to explain clearly and accessibly what the climate and nature crisis means for our health, food systems, economy, national security and way of life and, crucially, what we can still do about it.

The film grew out of the landmark National Emergency Briefing in Westminster, where ten leading experts presented the latest evidence to more than 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, sport and the media. Now that briefing is being taken out across the country. Watch the trailer for the People's Emergency Briefing HERE.

On 25 November, the Outdoor Industries Association and Protect Our Winters UK are bringing it to the outdoor community. Following the screening, we’ll host a panel conversation with voices from the two organisations, along with outdoor athletes and the wider climate community. We want this to be an opportunity not simply to hear the evidence, but to talk honestly about what it means for our sector and the role that our industry and our community can play.

Whether you are an executive, senior leader, or founder driving the future of the outdoor recreation industries, an athlete, or an OIA member who cares about our wild spaces, we’d love you to join us. We have a good space, so you are very welcome to bring multiple members of your leadership or strategy teams to be part of the conversation.

Come and watch the film. Join the conversation. And be part of deciding what we do next.

Doors open: 18:30

Film starts at 19:00 and runs for ~50 minutes, followed by 30 minute panel discussion
