Digital Discernment: Creating a Tech-Ready Home in the AI Age
(Parents and Caring Adults Only)
The challenges facing our children today are urgent and growing. As a community that values both safety and strong academics, we must come together to address the increasing impact of screen use and the very real dangers of social media on our kids at home and in school. From excessive time online to the risks of cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and online interactions with strangers, the impact on our children’s well-being, focus, and development cannot be ignored.
This is not just a school issue or a family issue, it’s a shared responsibility. By working together, our Eaton community can better support our children in navigating a digital world that presents both opportunities and serious risks. That’s why Eaton School District is bringing in a nationally respected expert organization, Protect Young Eyes, to partner with us in tackling these challenges head-on.
Michele Lothschutz, expert and speaker with Protect Young Eyes, will lead a conversation with parents and families on April 27th, from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Eaton High School. This event is completely complimentary, fully paid for by the district, because we believe every family deserves access to the tools and knowledge needed to keep their children safe and successful.
Please reserve your tickets and share the information with your friends, families, and fellow Eaton Reds as seats are limited. Every ticket holder will automatically be entered in a raffle to take home a copy of The Digital Delusion, a book written by Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath. In addition, while adults attend the training, childcare will be provided for children (5-11 years old) along with dinner and a movie.
Thank you for your partnership with the school district as we work together to guide students academically, emotionally, socially, and psychologically in today’s technology-driven world.
