Mental Health & Tech: Understanding Fabulous and Fragile Brains
(Parents and Caring Adults Only)
Our children's mental health has never been more important. As technology becomes increasingly woven into everyday life, we must better understand how constant connectivity, social media, and digital devices are shaping the developing brains of our children. While technology offers incredible opportunities, it also presents challenges that can impact emotional well-being, relationships, attention, sleep, and overall development.
As a community that values both student wellness and academic success, we all have a role to play in helping our children build healthy habits in an increasingly digital world. Supporting positive mental health is not solely the responsibility of schools or families—it requires a shared commitment to learning, understanding, and working together to provide our children with the guidance they need to thrive. To continue this important community conversation, Eaton School District is once again partnering with Protect Young Eyes to bring families practical, research-based strategies for navigating today's technology-driven world.
Join Protect Young Eyes Founder and CEO, Chris McKenna, on August 26th from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Eaton High School for Mental Health & Technology: Protecting Fabulous and Fragile Brains. During this engaging presentation, families will explore the science behind the developing adolescent brain, why today's technology is so captivating, and practical solutions for creating healthier digital habits that support children's emotional well-being. Parents and caregivers will leave with a deeper understanding of how technology affects young minds and the tools needed to help their children develop lifelong healthy relationships with technology.
