AAUP City Council Forum

Help build a bench of pro-funding statehouse candidates for the long term! City Councilors Mitch Green (District 4), Tiffany Koyama Lane (District 3), and Angelita Morrillo (District 3) have spoken in front of Board of Trustees meetings, signed letters of support for a fair contract, and were among the first to sign onto our letter calling on the PSU administration to pause PIVOT and partner on funding. City Council Candidates Jeremy Beausoleil Smith (Portland District 4) and Evelyn Kocher (Beaverton City Council, Position 1) have similarly stood in strong solidarity against layoffs and pushed for Oregon to do better than 46th in funding.

As strong allies of PSU-AAUP and supporters of PSU’s funding future, these council candidates will help us move the city to see PSU as a crucial partner in Portland’s next four years and beyond. And their voice can continue to influence the direction Salem takes in acknowledging the importance of Oregon’s urban research and access university.
