PTSD UK Guest Webinar: Introduction to EFT (Tapping) for Healing

Wed 26 Aug 2026 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

Learn about EFT tapping — a simple, free tool for calming your nervous system

Somatic therapy works much like traditional talking therapies such as counselling, but with an added body-based element. This approach brings the mind-body connection into the healing process, because while cognitive processing is always valuable, trauma happens to the body, not just the brain. For real, lasting change, both need to be part of the picture.

EFT, which stands for “emotional freedom techniques” is a form of somatic therapy and stress management tool, also known as “tapping”. It draws on elements of acupressure, similar to reflexology, and can incorporate eye movements and audio tones, much like EMDR. It's gentle, easy to learn, and can be an effective tool for supporting the nervous system.

Join us for an accessible, compassionate introduction to this technique with particular attention to how EFT can support trauma healing.

What you’ll learn

In this 90-minute session, you'll explore:

  • The somatic foundations of EFT - why working with the body, not just the mind, matters for healing, and how tapping fits into a broader nervous-system-informed approach.
  • The core tapping sequence - a simple, step-by-step technique you can practice along with us.
  • How to hold this with care - gentle guidance for using EFT as a self-support tool, with attention to pacing, consent with your own body, and what safety can feel like.
  • Where the edges are - what self-guided EFT can offer and when additional support may be needed.
