How can purposeful movement support nervous system regulation and recovery from trauma?
Living with PTSD or trauma can make movement, stillness, and even rest feel challenging at times. This 90-minute webinar introduces the benefits of accessible chair yoga as a supportive, adaptable way to reconnect with the body, build resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of safety.
Grounded in both contemporary understanding of the nervous system and traditional yoga philosophy, this approach encourages awareness, self-compassion, and a sense of connection – supporting participants to meet themselves as they are, without pressure or expectation.
The session begins with a 60-minute guided chair yoga practice using the Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga method, followed by a 30-minute discussion exploring how chair-based yoga can support trauma recovery. This evidence-informed approach is inclusive, grounding, and suitable for a wide range of abilities and energy levels.
