Join us for an end-of-year celebration and fun, festive conversations about our wishlist for cities, digital and data on Tuesday 5th December at 6pm GMT. We will explore what’s been happening across the year, share current work we’re involved in, opportunities, challenges, and lessons, and dream big about what might come for Christmas, the New Year and beyond!
The event will be hosted by Amanda Smith (Director, Public Digital) and Matilde Migliorero (Program Manager, Public Digital).
We will be joined by a fantastic panel of guest speakers, including Kit Collingwood, Dr Mahlet (Milly) Zimeta & Theo Blackwell MBE.
Kit Collingwood leads digital and customer services at the Royal Borough of Greenwich council. Before joining Greenwich, Kit was a civil servant for over 9 years, working first in policy making before moving to digital. Kit is passionate about service delivery to vulnerable groups, empowering teams and working across boundaries. Kit co-founded the One Team Government movement in 2017, which is a network of public servants around the world who meet to share ways to make government more effective.
Dr Mahlet (Milly) Zimeta is a tech policy consultant, currently working with Nesta and with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and serving as a member of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) advisory committee on Inclusive Data and Chatham House's high-level Taskforce on Responsible AI. She was previously Head of Public Policy at the Open Data Institute and before that worked in policy or strategic programme management roles at the Royal Society (the independent scientific academy of the UK), the Alan Turing Institute (Britain’s national institute for data science and AI) and the Medical Research Council (Britain's national medical research funder).
Theo Blackwell MBE was appointed as the first Chief Digital Officer for the Mayor of London in 2017. Theo leads London-wide digital transformation, data and smart city initiatives at City Hall. His role involves strategic leadership on the digital transformation agenda for London's public services; convening on behalf of the Mayor; and developing and promoting partnership between the public, private and community sectors to enable and support the development of new public service-oriented technology & innovation.
Attendees will then be invited to share what’s on their wishlist or ask questions and further the discussion.
Please register for a ticket, and tell your colleagues about this event too! You’ll have the option to join us in-person at the fabulous Old Sessions House or via Zoom. For those joining us in person, we encourage sequins and Christmas jumpers, and you’re welcome to join us for optional drinks, mince pies and chats afterwards.
We hope to see you there!
Amanda, Christine, Matilde and the Public Digital team.
