Ideas to Impact: What will you Build - Singapore

This session shares strategies from the Singapore Hospice Council (SHC) on engaging young people in building compassionate communities. Drawing on initiatives such as youth hackathon, Leap for Hospices, community art installations and school-based programmes, it highlights how structured opportunities can encourage youth to explore sensitive topics, express ideas creatively, and contribute to public awareness.

These examples demonstrate how youth engagement can evolve from participation to co-creation, with young people shaping projects in areas such as media, storytelling, and community education. Such approaches have helped expand awareness of palliative care, foster intergenerational understanding, and empower youth to take ownership of issues that matter to them.

Participants will gain practical insights into how similar strategies might be adapted within their own contexts to foster meaningful and sustainable youth involvement.
