Join Suzanne Collier, award-winning careers advisor and the founder of Bookcareers.com, in conversation with three brilliant industry professionals specialising in academic, trade, and children’s publishing: Isobel Birks (Senior Assistant Editor, Edinburgh University Press), Olivia-Savannah Roach (Campaigns Assistant, Canongate Books), and Richard Wainman (Senior Designer, Floris Books).

About the speakers:
Isobel Birks is the Senior Assistant Editor of Classics & Ancient History and Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies at Edinburgh University Press. She obtained an undergraduate degree in English Literature and History at Glasgow University (2014–2018) and a postgraduate degree in Publishing at Edinburgh Napier University (2021–2022). She has a background in corporate and book sales and has completed various publishing internships at Penguin Random House, Floris Books and Jasami Publishing.
Olivia-Savannah Roach is Campaigns Assistant at Canongate Books. She specialises in influencer marketing across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Alongside contributing to Canongate’s audiobook marketing and running her own book campaigns, she enjoys content creating on her independent socials too.
Richard Wainman is Senior Designer at Floris Books, an independent publisher based in Edinburgh, where he specialises in children’s books, working with illustrators from around the world.
Suzanne Collier is an award-winning Careers Advisor to the book publishing industry and the founder of Bookcareers.com. She has been actively working in book publishing since 1983 as well as giving careers advice since 1989. Suzanne has created and devised initiatives like the Careers Clinic, which now runs at the London Book Fair, and the Salary Survey for book publishing. She is the author of How to Job Search in Book Publishing, to be published in March 2024.
