Description

General

Welcome to the PST 2023 season!

The Season Opener trial will be held at Rock Ranch, Tenino, WA. This is a also an NMA points event.

Trial Event

   Registration

  • online only
  • registration (without penalty) will close 2 days before the event (March 3 at 6PM).
  • registration day of the trial costs extra ($20 added to normal registration fee)
  • register for AM or PM not both
    • AM lower skill level / PM higher skill level
    • if you are not sure what skill level you are contact a club officer to discuss
  • use your code for season pass holders
  • spectators must register (no fee)
  • We will be offering entry fee refunds up to the morning of the event. Contact signup.pst@gmail.com as we do not offer refunds for no shows.

   Description

  • Only persons registered for the event may attend.
  • Spectators are allowed but must register.
  • Places for all riders at event
  • Points for Season Standing are only awarded to current PST members
  • 3 loops
  • 10 sections per loop
  • separate AM and PM sections
  • Group check - riders must be in a group (see PST 2022 Terminology and Scoring)
  • Marshal will assist new riders in joining a group

  Schedule

  • Little Wheels
    • 7:50 riders meeting
    • 8:00 AM riders start
    • 9:00AM expected end time
  • Big Wheels
    • 9:00-9:30 AM
      • get your punch card with your name/Class on it
      • signup for section tear down
      • pick up loaner punch if you do not have your own
    • 9:30 AM Riders meeting
    • 10:00 AM Riders start (riders will not depart until all volunteer spots are full)
    • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Riders on course
    • When you complete the trial tally your score card at your vehicle (avoid crowding the Marshals table)
    • Turn in your score card at the Marshal table
    • 2:00 PM (or announced time by Marshal onsite)
      • end of trial
      • sweep riders will ride loops to clear all sections
      • volunteers out on course to do section tear down
    • The Trials Marshal will re-tally all cards to confirm the correct score is recorded.
    • 1-2 days later official scores will be posted on website

  Safety

  • IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL FOR ANY REASON, PLEASE STAY HOME!
  • Like most fun things in life you can get hurt riding motorcycles, even at low speed. 
  • PST strongly recommends participant have personal medical insurance coverage.
  • Use proper equipment and have that equipment in proper operation

   Equipment

  • required
    • trials bike (vintage class any twin shock air cooled motorcycle)
    • trials tires
    • spark arrestor
    • suitable helmet (must be worn anytime you are riding your bike)
    • drinks
    • lunch
    • pen for tally score card
    • paper towel to dry wet score card
  • recommended
    • gloves
    • boots

   Property

  • Rock Ranch is private property. Please help us be good stewards of this property, avoid driving through or parking in muddy areas. Please respect any areas of the pits that is ribboned off to minimize our impact. 
  • Dry camping Saturday and Sunday nights available. Due to limited space trailers over 24 feet are not recommended.
  • The hill down to the parking area is a narrow double track (single vehicle width) with limited visibility and no room to pass. If you are leaving before the event is over please ask someone to stop traffic at the top unless you like backing down the hill.

   Directions

  • There are many options to get yourself to Wa-507 south of Rainier. Turn South (left from Rainier) onto Johnson Creek Road, Proceed about a half mile, The gate to the venue will be on your left. Look for the PST arrows and banners.
  • Google Maps Address: 15230 Johnson Creek Rd SE, Tenino, WA 98589
  • Be aware that Apple Maps puts this address a couple miles farther down Johnson Creek Road than it is. If you pass Mountain Stone Aggregate you’ve gone too far.

This has become routine for all of us, but we've got to say it anyway. Please pre-screen yourselves before coming to the event. This includes...

-take your temperature - make sure you don’t have a cough - don’t have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing - if you’ve had COVID-19 that you haven’t displayed symptoms for the last 10 days.

Here are some guidelines to help determine if you should attend this event. If you have any of these symptoms or don’t feel well we are asking that you respect others and not attend.

  • In the last 14 days, have you experienced any of the following flu-like symptoms: Dry cough, Shortness of breath or other difficulty breathing, Fever >100 degrees F, Muscle aches or chills, New dizziness or headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell, Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).
  • In the last 2 weeks, have you been in contact with anyone confirmed COVID-19 positive or displaying respiratory or flu-like symptoms?
