PULSE at Soft Medicine: October 5

We invite you to help us kick off a fresh season of PULSE Partner Dances at "The Loft" at Soft Medicine Sanctuary on Thursday, September 21! We will be returning once a month in this fresh beautiful space.

7pm - Fusion dance lesson with Elliot Katz
8pm - Opening circle & First-timer orientation, followed by social dancing
10pm - Closing circle

Note about the venue: No outdoor shoes on the dance floor. We recommend socks or leather soled dance shoes.

About the Instructor & DJ, Elliot Katz (previously called Stem Kent, he changed his name recently!)

Elliot has been hooked on Blues Fusion partner dancing for the last decade, co-founding North Bay Fusion and now Pulse Partner Dance Collective. He sees the dance floor as a mirror for our lives, and welcomes all of our authentic humanness to awaken and express itself within the music and the partnered connection. With a background in mens work, he strives to bring awareness and attunement to dynamics of power, consent and desire that play out in the dance and he brings passion and playfulness to create a container of safety and exploration.

1) Dressy attire - whatever that means for you! Let's celebrate!
2) BYO water bottle & mug for warm tea (if desired).
3) Participate in the lesson preceding the social dance, as it helps us connect with each other and drop in to a cohesive collective space in which to launch into social exploration & expression for the rest of the evening! You'll learn something new in movement, be invited to connect with many different partners, and start to build familiarity, which fosters trust with each other and yourself. This is how our dance scene continues to root and blossom!

This community is expanding and we are appreciative of your continued engagement and grace as we hone in logistics like this, so that we can continue to hold a beautiful, connective container and to be in good standing with our host venue.

Thurs evening once a month: We’re honored to be hosted by Green Valley Village, where our dance floor is located in a beautiful converted barn, surrounded by redwoods and that magical West County feel! We are based out of Sebastopol, CA and aim to connect partner dancers in Sonoma County, CA and beyond.

We are committed to growing, harmonizing, and exchanging ideas in connective movement. We invite you to cultivate your skills in communication, consent, nonverbal cues, and partnered dance movement and will be offering support via lessons before events - our own, and before other dances in the Sonoma County, CA region.
