Private Class or Tying Session
Multiple dates and times
Silk Brighton, BN1 4JY
Description
Please indicate on the booking form whether you are booking a private class or tying session.
Private Classes:
Classes are tailored to your needs, whether you're new to rope, interested in learning to self-tie, looking to hone existing skills or wanting to overcome recurring issues in your rope practice. Book a 1-1 class to learn to self-tie, come with your tying partner, or request a co-teacher, if you need someone to tie or be tied by you.
When booking for a private class, 1 ticket covers either 1 individual or 1 tying pair, depending on your situation. If you wish to learn as a thruple, polycule or small group, this can be accommodated but be aware you will have less 1-1 time if there are 3 or more of you. Please enter the details only of the person making the booking.
You may require a co-teacher, if neither you/your tying partner are happy for Quartz to demonstrate techniques on your body. If you need a co-teacher, please indicate on the booking form. There will be no extra cost to you, and the payment you make will be divided equally between the two teachers.
Tying Sessions:
Private tying sessions are tailored to your needs, and can be floor, partial or suspension based.
Who might benefit from a tying session?
- People who are curious about rope and want to be tied by someone with lots of experience introducing people to rope
- Experienced rope bottoms who don't have a current tying partner
- People who've been subject to harm within the rope or kink scenes, who want a tying experience that centres them and their boundaries
- Trans people, who need euphoria-inducing rope with someone with living experience of managing dysphoria as a bottom, and of making adjustments to cater for post-surgery bodies
- People with trauma histories, who need an experience that centres feeling safe, with robust consent and negotiation practices
- Neurodivergent people, who want to be tied in a neuro-affirmative environment where stimming, sensory needs, different communication styles and processing speeds are centred and celebrated
- People disabled by society / with long term health conditions, who need to be tied by a health professional with a good understanding of anatomy and experience of tying disabled bodies
Prior to the session, you will have the chance to discuss the session with Quartz and have your questions answered. Your needs and preferences are the most important part of the session, and you will have full control over what is and isn't included, your limits and how you communicate them.
Tying sessions are intended as 1-1 appointments, although you are welcome to bring someone with you for emotional support, this person can either stay in the room during the session, or sit in the comfortable reception area.
Low-cost appointments
As a trans, neurodivergent, disabled person, Quartz recognises the importance of providing low-cost options to make their services accessible for those who normally wouldn’t be able to afford them. When Quartz is able to do this financially, they provide a limited number of low-cost appointments, intended for people from marginalised groups (including people living in poverty). If this is something you need, please email to request this - no questions asked about your financial situation or identity.
Location
All sessions/classes (unless you request otherwise) will be hosted at Silk, Brighton & Hove's only specialist LGBTQ+ Wellbeing space. For venue location and access information, see here. Private classes and tying sessions are open to all, but please be aware, if you are an ally, that you will be in an LGBTQ+ specialist space. Please refrain from any behaviour which may make other users of the space, including practitioners, uncomfortable.
