Mozart & Friends

The music of Mozart is legendary for towing the line of beautiful simplicity and turbulent drama. Particularly, his Quintet for Piano and Winds strikes the perfect balance of elegance, wit, and grandeur. Utilizing the colors of the winds alongside the piano, this work inspired composers for centuries later to utilize mixed chamber ensembles. Likewise, the Prokofiev Quintet is  an example of one such mixed ensemble, yet the music is entirely different; utilizing rhythmic drive, contrasting colors, and unexpected turns.

Join us for an evening of music illustrating how a small ensemble can create an entire world of musical expression.
