QUEER RUN CLUB is a safe space for queer people to run together.
We meet every Tuesday at 7pm just outside Brunswick East in Hackney Downs Studios. There is a bag drop in Barber's Gym just around the corner. Every month we run in a different way. This includes: hill sprints, paced run, sprints, and a long(ish) run. The longest we run is 10km on the long run. You will enjoy the run a little bit more if you can run 5km comfortably. We really try our hardest to make everyone welcome no matter what pace you run.
Queer Run Club is a ticketed event, you can pay for one or several sessions up front. We are growing as a crew and it is becoming harder for me to monitor who has the year long membership and who doesn't. So, in a bid for equality I have created a new ticketing system. But equity—I hear you say!—please tell me if you are unable to afford the ticket at the moment, I would rather you keep running.
We will NEVER ask you to prove your queerness, but, this is a space for queer people. If you feel as though that summarises your lived experience you are welcome. This does not mean Queer Run Club is exclusive, we welcome you if you are an ally, questioning, or even dabbling. But bbz...if you're not queer, you know what to do, allow space for those who do not have the cis-het privilege you do.
What you get for your well earned money is a guided run that is different every month. We also have a solid warm up and cool down by me (Kole) I am a fully qualified running coach and personal trainer, my pronouns are they/them.
