Queer Scouts will be hosting our 3rd annual camp at New England Base Camp in Milton, MA!
Why? Because...
- It's closer to Boston than our previous location
- It's about ~1 mile from public transit
- Has more even surfaces for accessibility
- Has mobility aide accessible restrooms
- Has increased capacity for more scouts to be with community
- Volunteering to help out at camp is mandatory (if you are physically/mentally/emotionally able). Queer Scouts Boston is run by just 5 people and we can't do it all on our own. You will see options for volunteering at checkout.
- Programming is determined by YOU our scouts. When purchasing a ticket you will be asked to fill out a form to volunteer to lead a skill-share. Without volunteers we will have no programming to offer. We handle the logistics and supplies (if you need any) and you just show up and show everyone how cool your are. Skill-shares people have hosted at camp in the past have included:
- Post Abortion Support
- Off-Grid Coffee Making
- Knot Tying
- Zine Making
- Lord of the Rings Round Table
- Bird Watching
- and more!
- All Queer Scouts events are sober spaces. This means no non-medical drugs or alcohol.
- No Smoking Allowed PERIOD
- If however, you need an exception (except for smoking) please email us at bostonevents@queerscouting.org
- If you are found to be under the influence without an exception you will be asked to leave as soon as you are able
No Scout is turned away for lack of funds.
We all fall on hard times but that shouldn’t prevent anyone from being with community.

Camp is a fundraising opportunity for Queer Scouts so we can:
- Keep our monthly programming low cost/free while affording supplies
- Raise funds for additional accessibility equipment to meet our mission of radical accessibility.
New England Base Camp was kind enough to customize pricing for us so we can do just that. All proceeds collected from camp will be split with them 50/50.
We did our best to keep pricing as low as possible to be as accessible to as many people as possible. Also, please note that all overnight and non-overnight ticket prices are for the entire weekend. Not per day. Not per night. A simple per person cost for 2 1/2 days. Here's the breakdown:

- Queer Scouts will have access to 7 bunks and 16 tent sites (3 tents can stay at each site)
- Each of the bunks has a sleeping capacity ranging from 16 to 24 people (this will be clearly shown on a map when you click "Buy Tickets")
- Bunk 2 is our mobility aid accessible bunk. Queer Scouts has rented 120 linear ft of portable accessibility pathways from accesstrax. At minimum this will be enough for people to make it to the bunk and back to The Egen Center.
- Two meals will be provided at camp if you purchase a meal ticket ($20 per person). Dinner on Friday night and dinner on Saturday night.
- You will be responsible for bringing your own lunch and breakfast (and dinner if you don't purchase a meal ticket).
- Meal tickets will not be able to purchased when you arrive at camp. We need time to compile meal plans.
- We do our best to take into account every persons allergies. However, please be aware that the kitchen will likely have cross contamination of various kinds so please use caution. We cannot guarantee any allergen safety.
- As stated above, we will have 120 linear ft of portable accessibility pathways from accesstrax. This will not be enough to cover every path at camp but we will do our best. Our main priority is access to Bunk 2 (our accessible bunk) and access to skill-shares, the majority of which will take place in either the Egen Center (ADA compliant facility) or the open air gazebo nearby with a wheelchair ramp (pictured below).
- The doorway to Bunk 2 is approximately 34 inches wide.
- All Bunks have mini-fridges for those who need to store temperature sensitive medication(PLEASE LABEL ALL YOUR STUFF). These fridges are SMALL. There will be fridge space in the main kitchen for those who need to store food.
- Bunks that have heat pump air conditioning units are:
- Bunk 1
- Bunk 2
- Bunk 3
- Bunk 4
- Bunk 6
- If the Bunk is not listed above there is no AC.
- Any time you are indoors (with the exception of bunks), you must wear a well fitting kn95 or n95 mask. Accessibility includes those who are immune compromised and as a queer community it is our responsibility to welcome EVERYONE.
- Before arriving at camp you must take a rapid antigen test the day you are arriving (you can find these at your local pharmacy). and show proof of negative results with a timestamp upon arrival.
- Failure to either wear a mask indoors or provide proof of a negative rapid test will result in you needing to leave camp.
- Please note that there are some activities on the campgrounds that are in fixed locations that New England Base Camp has built for it's regularly scheduled programming that we may not have enough accessibility pathways to reach. These may include archery, rope making and axe throwing. We will however do our best with what we have and can afford as an organization.
