Manage tickets

Join Queer Scouts Seattle for an in-person, masked, outdoor seed starting social at Judkins Park. Feel free to bring any seeds you want to grow this year and we will have supplies to get you started. We will be making eco-friendly pots out of toilet paper rolls and we will have aluminum trays available for you to take your newly planted seed home. Don't have any seeds? No problem, we will have some to share!

Please note: Queer Scouts is a substance-free group. Please do not drink alcohol, smoke, or otherwise partake during this event.

CANCELLATIONS:

If you are unable to come, please cancel your ticket or email lauren@queerscouting.com. You may cancel your own ticket and receive a refund up to one hour before the event. We will keep all transaction fees and any remaining funds you paid will be returned to the original payment method. There is no shame for a last minute cancellation, but we sometimes have waitlists and cancelling tickets allows us to free up spots for others.

ACCESSIBILITY TRANSPARENCY:

Physical:

We are going to try to claim the shelter next to the bathrooms at the southern end of the park, near the playground. If that is taken, we will find space at a table or in the grass nearby. This area is close to accessible parking. Please consult this graphic from Mask Bloc Seattle for a previous event they hosted at this location for additional accessibility information about this location. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15lTP6bEYTRycQTMpFgbttUWmRFpe7JFD/view?usp=sharing. If you have specific questions, let us know how we can help you!

Sensory:

We will have a canopy and some blankets and camp chairs. If you're able to bring your own picnic blanket or chair, that would be helpful! Remember that this will be March in Seattle so it is likely to be chilly and damp.

Immune System Safety:

Queer Scouts understands that the Covid-19 vaccine is not currently accessible to everyone. The Washington State Department of Health has issued a standing order to allow healthcare providers and pharmacists in WA to administer Covid vaccines to anyone age 6mo+. The vaccine is covered by WA Apple Health Medicaid and many other insurance plans. Queer Scouts recognizes that some insurance plans may not cover the vaccine at this time, which has led to unequal access. We are temporarily removing the requirement for vaccination at our in-person events. If you are physically and financially able to be vaccinated, we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE getting an updated dose of the 2025-26 Covid vaccine.

Plan to be masked with an n95/kn95+ or similar respirator type mask at all times; if you need to drink or eat something, please step away from the group. While all members of our group will be masked, please note that other likely to be other unmasked folks likely to be nearby in the park.

We have 19 tickets for Scouts and one for Leadership member, Lauren, for a total of 20 folks attending this event.

Financial:

This event is FREE for all attendees. If you'd like to make a donation, follow the directions later in the ticket process. Feel free to donate as little or as much as you are able. Donations support us in continuing to make Queer Scouts programming available & accessible to everyqueer.

Transit:

Parking: There is are two small parking lots at the south end of Judkins Park. Additional street parking is available near the park.

Buses: Metro routes 48 and 4 both stop about a block east of Judkins Park.

Biking: There is a bike rack near the bathrooms and park shelter on the south end of the park. The rack has spots for five bikes.
