Clown Jam #2 (Getting the Fear Out) at Sunday Sanctuary
Clown Jam #2 - Getting the Fear Out
Clowning For Wellbeing
Clowning is a powerful tool for mental wellness. By embracing vulnerability and surreal play, we can bypass the anxieties that often hold us back. In this workshop, you’ll discover:
• Cathartic Connection: Emotion and vulnerability to build a bridge between yourself and others.
• Creative Freedom: Face paint, skits, or lighthearted "circus tricks", we use play to find joy in the unexpected.
• Community Healing: A community-oriented space - we prioritise the feeling of clowning over technical performance.
"The core mission is to bypass anxiety and connect through a surreal sense of play and joy."
This workshop is open to anyone aged 16 and over with an interest in clowning — from beginners to those simply looking to socialise and meet new people. Elisa will guide you through a gentle transition from structured instruction into pure creative play. You don’t need any performance experience - just a willingness to be a little bit silly and a lot of yourself.

ELISA MOORE

Elisa Moore, also known as Babel the Clown, uses her experience in the art and philosophy of clowning to produce thrilling shows as well as queer-oriented community workshops. Her experimental teaching style utilises play and self-direction to allow people to discover their own clown. She works especially with LGBTQ+ people and young adults who may not have access to traditional clowning institutions.
