Sunday Sanctuary - QueerSoho History Tour
Ahead of our move to a new home at 55 Dean Street, we're starting things off gently — with a free Queer History tour of Soho.
Our guide is Chris Barlow — a gallerist, but above all an activist who has lived Soho's history through decades of change. He's promised us stories that go well beyond the usual well-worn tales of the area.
Soho has long given shelter and inspiration to a dazzling list of characters — from the Chevalier d'Éon to David Bowie, Francis Bacon, Madame Jojo and William Blake — all packed into these teeming streets and alleyways, offering up glamour and the thrill of the unexpected. It's a gentle stroll around Soho (no hills!), and afterwards, those who fancy staying on are welcome to join us for a bit of a picnic in Soho Square. We might even sneak a peek at our new space while we're at it.
